James H. (L.) Grintead, a very prominent and highly respected old farmer, Living near Grayford, died very suddenly last Saturday evening while milking the cows. He came in from work and said he guessed he would go milk the cows which were in a pasture. His wife persuaded him to eat supper first, which he did, eating heartily, after which he mounted a horse and rode to the pasture. Not returning in a reasonable length of time his wife grew uneasy and went to look for him. It was growing dark and he could not be seen so the alarm was given, and a searching party bearing lanterns, was organized and a search instituted. He was found dead near the bucket of milk, with his head lying on his arm. He had complained of a severe pain in his heart for a couple of days and his death was pronounced due to heart disease. He was past middle age and was a man of family. He had lived for many years in the neighborhood where he died and had the respect of all who know him.
